Medical gas compliance is always evolving. New requirements are introduced with each new edition of NFPA 99. CMS and other Accrediting Organizations such as TJC & DNV do not adopt every new edition of NFPA 99 that is released. However, it is still important for facilities to be aware of the direction these codes are taking so incremental changes can be implemented and facilities can be ahead of the compliance curve. Medical Gas Annual Testing & Preventative Maintenance
Medical gas annual testing is required for certain components within a piped medical gas system, such as central supply systems. There are many other requirements, some are in time frames defined by the healthcare facility, while others are defined by manufacturer’s recommendations or other codes.
