Anytime medical gas systems are being newly installed or renovated, there are requirements listed within NFPA 99 that must be followed. EMGS can help ensure your project achieves compliance with all applicable medical gas codes from the moment we are involved. The earlier we get involved, the better. We often catch non-compliant items within the design phase saving the entire project time and money.
EMGS performs medical gas inspections as per the requirements listed in NFPA 99 within section 5.1.12.3. Medical gas inspections became part of the NFPA 99 requirements as part of the 2018 edition. If your state or jurisdiction has adopted the 2018 (or later) edition of NFPA 99 you may be required to perform “pre-cover up” inspections of all concealed medical gas piping. These inspections should be carried out by a qualified individual with a valid ASSE 6020 medical gas inspector credential.
EMGS offers post-construction medical gas testing of all components of piped medical gas systems including source equipment, valves, alarm panels and outlets. Included with post-construction medical gas testing is access to our vast knowledge of NFPA 99 for any questions you may have during the installation of the project.
